For simple things like adding support for additional Nextcloud Server configuration parameters, customization is not needed. In addition to the installation configuration values that can be defined via Docker environment variables (and secrets), other config values can be set via either the image's auto-config "hook" support (without any limitations) or via Nextcloud's less well documented `NC_` environment variables (with some limitations).
